Do you relate to any of these statements?
If you have been experiencing any challenges or mixed emotions related to food and eating after your VSG surgery, let's have a conversation and get your gastric diet support in place
for healthy, successful weight loss.
1
I am gaining weight with my gastric sleeve.
Some people may gradually return to unhealthy eating habits, such as consuming high-calorie, low-nutrient foods or overeating.
You find the foods that you miss.
This will cause weight gain.
Together, we can look at your meals and snacks and plan foods that you enjoy and make you feel good. A gastric sleeve diet can be and should be delicious!
2
I am eating too much food.
After VSG, you must control your portions to avoid discomfort, nausea or vomiting.
You should eat smaller, nutrient-dense meals throughout the day, chew thoroughly, and focus on hunger and fullness cues.
It's not easy after years of overeating. Let's put together a personalised gastric sleeve diet plan.
3
I regret having the gastric sleeve
It's important to acknowledge that feelings of regret or dissatisfaction with any medical procedure are valid and can be complex.
Let's have a conversation and discuss support and information on potential options for moving forward positively.
4
I want to improve my health.
Choosing nutritious food options for your gastric sleeve diet every day is essential to optimise your well-being and feel great after
VSG surgery. Incorporating regular exercise will also benefit your body and mind. We can work together to create a realistic and sustainable plan that fits your lifestyle.
5
What are the right foods for a gastric sleeve diet?
Gastric sleeve surgery may lead to deficiencies in vitamin B12, iron, calcium, and vitamin D due to its impact on nutrient absorption.
After a VSG it is challenging to take the required vitamins and minerals through supplements. Eating a balanced diet is a better option as it helps in better absorption of nutrients.
6
I miss eating big meals.
I understand how you feel as I used to enjoy eating big meals as well. It's completely normal to
miss certain foods after
undergoing a VSG.
The procedure is designed to aid weight loss by limiting food intake and promoting a feeling of fullness. We can work together to create meals that are both nutrient-dense and enjoyable for you.

VSG Did you know...?
VSG is a safe weight loss option, but it requires long-term support. VSG Diet Support health coaching can help prevent weight regain, optimise nutrition absorption, and address potential issues for sustained well-being.
Altered Digestive Tract:
VSG surgery reduces the stomach size, hence reducing the amount of digestive enzymes and stomach acid produced.

This may cause the digestive process to be inefficient due to the small size of the stomach.
Malabsorption of Nutrients:
A reduced stomach may affect the passage of food and absorption of nutrients like essential elements such as vitamin B12, iron, and calcium. Fat-soluble vitamins are present in A, D, E, and K.
Poor absorption may hamper the normal passage through the stomach and result in poor absorption, which contributes to deficiencies and anemia.
Weight Gain Over Time:
Overeating due to poor food selection and sedentary lifestyle could be the leading reasons for regaining the weight. Stomach stretching over time might be yet another crucial factor.
A key to good weight management is long-term adjustment in one's lifestyle and support extended throughout the bariatric journey in VSG.
The Science:
It damages the body through malabsorption, interrupting the normal process of absorption of nutrition into the body, causing deficiencies significant enough to impact your health, and you have to learn working with your food intake to see that you get what needs are needed.
Nutrient absorption and regaining weight
can be an issue after VSG surgery.
VSG Diet Support offers a comprehensive approach to your diet and helps you identify areas where adjustments can be made. A balanced diet, including whole foods, is recommended. Protein shakes are not the solution.

Sustainable Habits for Long-Term Well-being
I fully understand the challenges and victories that come with the life-altering process of undergoing VSG (Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy) because six years ago, I began my own VSG journey after living for more than 40 years as an overweight person.
Through my personal journey and education as a Health Coach, I learned how to change my diet using only natural, nutrient-dense food for optimal health. This involved adopting a VSG diet tailored to my needs and circumstances.
