Time to get your diet right!

Meet Jackie. Jackie is 47 and she lives with her second husband and they have been together for 7 years. They both have children from previous marriages, two don’t live at home and the other one is away at university and comes back during the holidays. Jackie works full time and is a manager in Finance.

Middle-age has crept up slowly with Jackie not taking any notice of the warning signs and now it is here and will not go away.

Jackie has always had a weight problem and has tried all the fashionable diets as they came out, but none of them has ever worked well. When Jackie does diet, she diets like crazy on basically eating nothing just to drop a dress size for an event.

Over the last few years, her weight has been creeping up and up. She knows that losing weight needs to be more than for a holiday or a wedding and wants to improve her health.

As she has tried all the fad diets known to man, she is opting for a calorie-controlled diet. This way she believes that she can still have some treats and enjoy foods. Also, she can purchase ready-made meals from M&S easily and they already have the calories counted up on them, plus the nutritional value. She is allowing herself 1400 calories a day, as she knows that she is not that active so this number of calories should be fine.

Jackie is not very active, she drives to work, or works from home and sometimes takes the dog out for a walk but not often as this is what her husband likes to do.

But Jackie’s problem is not the cost of buying the meals, it is that she gets bored, and then her husband wants to go out for meals at the weekend plus the fact she loves to bake. But she realises this time that as she approaches menopause, she must lose some weight and be honest with herself she won’t be a size 10 or 12 but happy with 14 to 16. Losing weight will help her confidence in getting fit and maybe might start swimming again.

Jackie wants her energy back to lose weight.

Suggested supported plan: 8 weeks plan. This will allow Jackie time to feel settled and not overwhelmed in her new way of eating and then confidentially continue or stop and adjust living with her new weight until ready to continue back dieting. Maintenance diet is part of my additional services.
